Bigging up the Sigma 15mm 2.8 Fisheye!

I have had this lens for a long time and will forever appreciate it, but I think its about time I did a post. The Sigma 15mm f2.8 FISHEYE is one of my 3 go too lenses along with the Canon 24-70mm f2.8 and Sigma 70-200mm f2.8. The other 2 are great for your normal every day shots but im a creative, I want to make something with a different and artier too, which is why the fisheye came into my life.

I remember when I brought the lens, I was off to shoot Sumo Cyco at Rock City in Nottingham, and it was a cold day. I popped into town to get a hoodie, walked past London Camera Exchange, this beautiful creation caught my eye (it practically winked at me), we instantly hit it off, and bang the lens was in my backpack, part of the fam! Talk about impulse buy, but boy was it worth it.
Anyway, the lens has always been a fan favourite and many artists have used my shots with it. Yes I do have to get super close to the artists to get the best shots, but that compliments my style of shooting anyway. It focuses very quickly and has definitely got some amazing freeze frame moments for me. I will forever have a fisheye in my kit bag with me for these reasons.
Last night I was in a small venue, with terrible lighting and cramped conditions. The 24-70mm just wasn’t cutting it for me, so good ol’ faithful Sigma 15mm Fisheye came out to play and delivered exactly the shots I wanted when I wanted them! Talk about life saver!

Later this week, I will be shooting with friends (and repeat clients) A Hundred Crowns & Crosslight. And guess what will be coming out to play once again….
Until then, here are some shots from Rescue Rooms, Nottingham last night with Ike Productions presents: Our Hollow, Our Home, THECITYISOURS, The Uncharted, Wolves Dont Sleep
